Brief Bio
Since April 2010 Thomas is a Ph.D. student in the Computer Vision Group headed by Daniel Cremers at the Technische Universität München. For the academic year 2011/2012, Thomas is a visiting Ph.D. student at Waseda University, Tokyo, in the group of Hiroshi Ishikawa. He is interested in using graph theory and discrete optimization to solve computer vision problems. Thomas Windheuser studied Computer Science at the University of Bonn. In 2004/2005 he stayed one year as an exchange student at Keio University, Tokyo. At the University of Bonn he was member of Team NimbRo working on a football playing humanoid robot, winning the Robocup twice (teensize humanoid league 2009/2010) and the Best Humanoid Award in 2010. Thomas recieved his diploma in Computer Science from University of Bonn in 2010.
Shape Matching
Finding a matching betwee the surfaces of two shapes that preserve the geometric structure of the shapes is still a challenging task. The video below shows some results from our recent ICCV paper. For more information look at the shape matching project page.
